First Step Childcare provides an excellent service for the local community and aims to provide the perfect environment for children of all ages to develop their social, emotional and educational skills and learn through a planned play based curriculum.

To provide a social environment where any child of our community can interact with others in their own age group and facilitate relationships away from the family unit.
We believe in the uniqueness of each child and we design to promote each child’s individual social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

Statement of Purpose & Function
First Step recognises parents as the primary educators of their children.
First Step aims to provide a safe, stimulating and encouraging environment whereby we constantly re-evaluate services to make sure parents and children receive a standard of childcare that is second to none.
We have in accordance with Early Years Services up-to-date policies and procedures to protect the child in our care so as to provide a warm, loving home from home environment, where a child is treated with respect and is valued as an individual on their journey of discovery through play and learning.
We will encourage the child’s individuality, confidence and self-esteem. The emphasis will be on learning through play, an awareness of personal safety and hygiene, development of social skills and encouraging participation in all activities, events and outings.
First Step will encourage good behaviour, sharing and co-operation with a caring attitude. Our staff will nurture each child’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
Our service runs in accordance with the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016.
